Thanks to its strategic position, the town of Castelraimondo clistere beneath a fort to serve military necessity purposes. Its Cassero (fortified keep) became, in facts, the connection point of a 10-15 km long defensive line. Today, the Cassero is a mighty 36 m. high crenellated tower, tapering upwards, three times reduced in thickness. It is the symbol of Castelraimondo.
